| Update: | Compliance Alert – Permanent VAT reduction of 6% on gas and electricity |

On 16 March 2023, the Belgian government adopted the legislative act changing the temporary reduction of VAT on gas and electricity to the permanent status.
The permanent reduction from 21% to 6% applies to VAT on the supply of electricity, natural gas, heating fuels and other heating system supplies.
This act applies to non-commercial gas and electricity supply and is effective from 1 April 2023.
