On 19 May 2023, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) of the UAE shared 2 cabinet decisions directly impacting Electronic Transactions and Trust Services. By this, executive regulation on Law No. 46 of 2021 is established. This entails, amongst other things, legal recognition of e-signatures and alignment with EU eIDAS regulations.
The decisions also affect the transitional period of the law which was previously 2 January 2023. There will now be extended one more year until 2 January 2024.
