| Update: | Compliance Alert - Extension of zero VAT rate on basic foodstuff |

On 27 June 2023, the Ministry of Finance of Poland announced the prolongation of the reduction of the zero VAT rate for basic food products, which previously applied at a 5% VAT rate.
The 0% VAT rate will apply to the following foodstuff until 31 December 2023:
- Meat, fish and their preparations;
- Milk and dairy products;
- Eggs;
- Natural honey;
- Nuts;
- Vegetables, fruits and their preserves;
- Edible animal and vegetable fats;
- Cereals and cereal products, including bread and confectionery;
- Milk for infant and child nutrition and dietary foods for special medical purposes.
