In June 2022, ZATCA released an initiative to suspend fines and penalties for taxpayers subject to all tax laws in the Kingdom. The exemptions qualify all tax-related fines and penalties in the country, including e-invoicing penalties.
The initiative was prolonged by ZATCA several times during 2022-2023 and on 29 December 2023, ZATCA announced that the initiative would be further extended until 30 June 2024
