| Update: | Compliance Alert - Extension of zero VAT rate on basic food for the next quarter |

According to the Journal of Laws (Journal of Laws 2023, item 2670), zero VAT on food prolongs for 3 months.
The temporary tax reduction of food products previously applied till 31 December 2023, which now extends to 31 March 2024.
The 0% VAT rate will apply to the following foodstuffs until 31 March 2024:
- Meat, fish, and their preparations;
- Milk and dairy products;
- Eggs;
- Natural honey;
- Nuts;
- Vegetables, fruits, and their preserves;
- Edible animal and vegetable fats;
- Cereals and cereal products, including bread and confectionery;
- Milk for infant and child nutrition and dietary foods for special medical purposes.
