Update: | Compliance Alert – New Resolution for product and service descriptions in e-documents |
Date: | 2024-03-21 |
The Internal Revenue Service (SII) published Exempt Resolution SII N°36, which establishes requirements to clearly describe the products and services sold in the following e-documents:
- Invoice;
- Credit note;
- Debit note;
- Despatch advise;
- Self-billed invoice;
- Consignment invoice.
The resolution clarifies that the description of the products or services sold as detailed under the field “Item Name” (Sp.: Nombre del Ítem) must be reported without ambiguities or inaccuracies. Therefore, abbreviations preventing proper understanding are not allowed.
However, additional codes for internal use can still be included. If the description exceeds the 80 characters allowed for this field, taxpayers must continue with the description in the respective "Item Description" (Sp.: Descripción del Ítem) field.
This resolution will become effective as of 1 July 2024.
