Update: | Compliance Alert - SRI mandates Electronic Sales Receipts for RIMPE Entrepreneurs |

Ecuador's Internal Revenue Service (SRI) has issued resolution NAC-DGERCGC24-00000027, updating the regulations for the Simplified Regime for Entrepreneurs and Popular Businesses (RIMPE). This new resolution replaces NAC-DGERCGC23-00000004.
The main changes are as follows:
- Regulations Update: The resolution covers exclusions from the RIMPE regime, exceptions for maintaining income and expense records, and requirements for issuing electronic sales receipts and withholdings;
- Electronic Sales Receipts: RIMPE entrepreneurs must issue electronic sales receipts, withholdings, and complementary documents. Popular businesses may issue pre-printed sales notes but can also opt for electronic formats;
- Withholding Vouchers: Must be issued by the fifth business day of the following month, detailing all withheld amounts and relevant sporting event information;
- Implementation Date: The regulation takes effect on 1 August 2024 upon its publication in the Official Register.
