Update: Compliance Alert - Minas Gerais activates new NFC-e validation rule for unauthorized consumption
Date: 2024-10-11

SEFAZ Minas Gerais has announced the activation of Validation Rule 656, which targets improper consumption by a company's Electronic Consumer Invoice (NFC-e) issuing application.

What are the changes?

Validation Rule 656 will prevent NFC-e authorization in cases of improper consumption by issuing software. This rule is already in effect in the approval environment and will be enforced in the production environment from 3 February 2025.

What are the impacts?

Taxpayers must closely monitor their issuing systems to comply with this rule. Failure to do so may result in blocked NFC-e authorizations. Furthermore, businesses are advised to contact their software support teams to address issues and prevent disruptions.

Implementation timelines

  • Approval Environment (company testing environment): Active now;
  • Production Environment: 3 February 2025.
