Update: | Compliance Alert – SRI sets a deadline for electronic sales receipt transmission |
Date: | 2024-11-11 |
Ecuador's Internal Revenue Service (SRI) has issued Resolution NAC-DGERCGC24-00000035, modifying Resolution NAC-DGERCGC18-00000233 to establish the deadline for transmitting electronic sales receipts and extend the percentage of physical receipts issued.
What are the changes?
Electronic receipts must be transmitted to the Tax Administration simultaneously with their generation. Additionally, receipts can be transmitted up to four business days after generation via web service links provided in the Technical Sheet for Electronic Receipts.
Exceptions and their impact
The resolution permits taxpayers to issue up to 5% of their receipts in physical form based on the previous fiscal year's total. This is applicable during the national electricity sector emergency declared in August 2024 and only in exceptional cases where electronic receipts cannot be generated due to force majeure.
This move aims to streamline the electronic receipt flow while accommodating exceptional circumstances.
