| Update: | Compliance Alert– The Ministry of Finance released the CAByS codes for medicine transactions |

The Costa Rican Ministry of Finance has released the CAByS (Catálogo de Bienes y Servicios) codes for medicines.
These codes must be included in the electronic tax receipt for medicine sales.
The obligation is fulfilled by including the nodes “Medicine registration” and “Pharmaceutical form” in the receipt.
The requirement will concern users of the current latest version, 4.3, and the upcoming version, 4.4, with the following dates to adhere to:
- Version 4.3 - January 1, 2025;
- Version 4.4 - June 1, 2025.
