The Ecuadorian president has signed Executive Decree 470 of December 2024. The decree establishes that the standard VAT rate shall remain at 15% throughout 2025.
The standard VAT rate was increased from 13% to 15% in 2024 through Executive Decree 198, which was established to be valid until December 31, 2024. With the passing of Executive Decree 470, the standard VAT rate of 15% was prolonged until December 31, 2025.
The decree entered into force on December 10, 2024, through its publication in the Official Gazette.
