Compliance Alert – Minas Gerais updates QR code URLs for BP-e and CT-e

The State Department of Finance of Minas Gerais (SEF-MG) has announced an important change to the URLs used in the QR Codes of the Electronic Passenger Ticket (BP-e) and the Electronic Freight Document (CT-e). Starting April 24, 2025, only the new URLs will be accepted in electronic fiscal documents issued in the state.

What are the changes?

The main changes are the URLs for the QR Codes:

• Electronic Passenger Ticket (BPe)
  • Old URL: https://bpe.fazenda.mg.gov.br/portalbpe/sistema/qrcode.xhtml
  • New URL: https://portalbpe.fazenda.mg.gov.br/portalbpe/sistema/qrcode.xhtml
• Electronic Freight Document (CT-e)
  • Old URL: https://cte.fazenda.mg.gov.br/portalcte/sistema/qrcode.xhtml
  • New URL: https://portalcte.fazenda.mg.gov.br/portalcte/sistema/qrcode.xhtml

What are the impacts?

Companies that issue BP-e and CT-e in Minas Gerais need to update their systems to use the new URLs for QR Code generation. Failure to do so may result in validation problems with fiscal documents, affecting the regularity of their operations.

Implementation timelines

• Approval environment (company testing environment): Companies should test the new URLs in their test environments as soon as possible.
• Production Environment:
  • Until April 23, 2025: Both old and new URLs are accepted.
  • From April 24, 2025: Only the updated URLs are valid.
