|Update:||Compliance Alert - New guide update regarding CIUS-PT electronic billing documents|
According to the ordinance “Portaria n.º 195_2020”, Portugal had postponed the mandate to add the QR code and ATCUD number in tax invoices until 1 January 2022.
The previous version 2.0.0 of the mandatory B2G e-invoice format (CIUS-PT) did not support the provision of the QR code/ string nor of the ATCUD when invoicing public administrations.
In late February, FE-AP (the Portuguese platform for B2G e-invoicing) has released an updated version of the CIUS-PT specifications, version 2.1.1.
Under these specifications, which have already entered into force, it will become possible to provide the QR sting and ATCUD elements as part of B2G e-invoicing. The new version of CIUS-PT is already supported by eSPap (Public Administration Shared Services Entity).
Please note, that – even though the use of ATCUD becomes mandatory only from January 2022 – according to the most recent communication, the taxpayers will be able to obtain the ATCUD number from the Portuguese Tax Administration starting from June 2021.
Pagero, after analyzing the new CIUS-PT specifications, has already built support for the new format and every business can anticipate the mandated deadline to be compliant in Portugal through us.
