Release notification of Pagero Universal Format (PUF) 2.0.

On Monday, 21 June 2021, there will be a new specification released for Pagero Universal Format. Version 2.0 is created to accommodate a quicker adoption of new markets and legal domains outside the European Union.
Previously, Pagero Universal Format was created as an extension on top of Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 and the European Norm (EN16931). While no changes have been made in the interpretation of business terms and data elements in the new PUF version, the ties to EN16931 and Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 have been slightly loosened. Schematron rules available for PUF now only contain PUF-explicit rules; EN16931 and Peppol BIS rules have been removed from Schematron files and Pagero Validex. Going forward, we will still closely monitor what is done in the Peppol community.
The new PUF 2.0 version is fully backwards-compatible. However, with the removal of dependency from Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 and EN16931, an update to customisation is inevitable.
In the current Pagero Universal Format 1.0, the customisation identifier is urn:cen.eu:en16931:2017#compliant#urn:fdc:peppol.eu:2017:poacc:billing:3.0#
conformant#urn:pagero.com:puf:billing:1.0.
In version 2.0 this will be changed to 'urn:pagero.com:puf:billing:2.0'.
During the migration phase, PUF Schematron rules will allow both customisation identifiers, but the old identifier will be deprecated by 1 November 2021. We urge all users of Pagero Universal Format to update as soon as possible.
