Compliance Alert - New guidelines on notifying the GIB about objection requests for e-Fatura and e-Arşiv invoice

Update: Compliance Alert - New guidelines on notifying the GIB about objection requests for e-Fatura and e-Arşiv invoice
Date: 2021-06-24

On 11 June 2021, the Turkish Revenue Administration (GIB) has published an announcement about new notification procedures via the GIB platform.

The announcement introduces two updated guidelines on the digital notification of cancellation and objection for e-Fatura and e-Arşiv. These guidelines state that the GIB platform can be used to notify the Turkish Revenue Administration about objection requests made against an issued e-Fatura and e-Arşiv invoice.

The new procedures will enter into force on 1 July 2021. Following these rules, objections or cancellation requests will have to be made within 8 days from the date the e-invoice is delivered to the buyer.

In the new process for e-Arşiv, suppliers have two options to notify the GIB about cancellation or objection request:

  • To use the e-Arşiv schema (automated);
  • To use the GIB platform and register the request there. Buyers will have the access to check such requests on the platform and respond to them, which, however, is not mandatory.

No changes are made to the e-Fatura schema at the moment – the suppliers can only notify the Turkish Revenue Administration about e-Fatura objections through the GIB platform. The buyers can respond to the objection requests via the platform accordingly.
