Compliance Alert - B2G e-invoicing postponement and authorization request for certain taxpayers

Update: Compliance Alert - B2G e-invoicing postponement and authorization request for certain taxpayers
Date: 2022-07-29

The Republic of Panama has released two resolutions regarding e-invoicing. The first one concern B2G e-invoicing. Private entities were supposed to start sending e-invoices to public entities through SFEP (the e-invoicing regime in Panama) on 30 July 2022, however, according to Resolution No. 201-5215 the date has been postponed instead until 1 November 2022.

Secondly, through Resolution No. 201-5214, the Tax Authority establishes the obligation to join SFEP regime to those taxpayers part of the pilot program listed in article 16 of Resolution No. 201-5784 who were not issuing e-invoices until now. Therefore, these taxpayers will have to request authorization to join the SFEP invoicing method and start issuing e-invoices exclusively.
