Compliance Alert - Dutch public sector to cease all use of SI-UBL 1.2 standard

Update: Compliance Alert - Dutch public sector to cease all use of SI-UBL 1.2 standard
Date: 2022-27-09

The Dutch central government has announced it will no longer support the SI-UBL 1.2 standard, beginning 1 January 2023.

As the Netherlands Peppol Authority made SI-UBL 1.2 optional as of 1 July 2022, this now means that for parties operating on the Peppol network, it is no longer required to support it. However, the Dutch central government will still accept the document until 1 January 2023.

After cessation of the use of SI-UBL 2.1, the parties sending documents to the Dutch central government will be able to use standards such as NL-CIUS and Peppol BIS. It is important to note that when moving to these new preferred standards, the identifier OIN: 0190 should be used.
